Come Follow Me: Jesus’ Call to be His Disciple

Jesus’ call to everyone of is, “Come follow Me and learn from Me what it looks like to really know and serve God, to advance His agenda, and to live in a relationship with Him.” Following Jesus is about laying aside our life, personal agenda, and plans to take up the life Jesus has for us. One of the greatest illustrations in the Bible of this call is Jesus’ interaction with four fishermen on the shores of the Sea of Galilee in Luke 5:1-11. In this passage we see Jesus reveal Himself in ways that caught the heart and the passion of these commercial fisherman who would leave everything behind to follow Him.
