A King’s Arrogance, A Queen’s Resistance, and God’s Providence

God's providence is evident on every page of the book of Esther. While King Ahasuerus proudly displays his wealth and power, God is quietly directing history according to His sovereign plan. The king's pride, Queen Vashti's refusal, and the decisions that follow are not random events but part of God's preparation to preserve His covenant people. Along the way, the passage also exposes the emptiness of worldly power and warns against pride, drunkenness, and the misuse of others. Even when God seems hidden, He is faithfully at work behind the scenes, accomplishing His purposes and caring for His people through every circumstance.
