I’ve lived in Troy just about all my life. I love this town. I love the people here; it’s home. I’m married to Stephanie, who is the only girl I ever wanted to marry. She’s the loveliest woman I know. We live out in the country with our two boys, Caleb and Daniel, and our amazing lab, Sally. I spent five years at UMHB and graduated in 1999. I then squeezed 4 years into 6 at Dallas Seminary from 2000 to 2006. I’m all about the extended education tracks!
I’ve served at FBC Troy since 1998. I never could have imagined what God had in store for me when He brought me here, and I am grateful to Him for planting me and my family in this church, in this community. I absolutely love the people in this church body. It’s awesome to experience the love and support of the body of believers here at FBC Troy. We really love one another!
I enjoy photography (especially shooting together with my wife), hunting, fishing, strumming the guitar, and working in our garden. I like to wrestle with my boys, help them catch fish, and hear their laughter which is music to my heart.
Some of my favorite authors include A.W. Tozer, J.I. Packer, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Chip Ingram, and Chuck Swindoll. If I’m making a music playlist it’s going to have Steven Curtis Chapman, Rich Mullins, Casting Crowns, Neil Diamond, Gordon Lightfoot, the Bee Gees, and some 1980s country and soft rock hits.
I’m a coffee drinker because I love the way it tastes! My greatest food weaknesses (serious Kryptonite here) are Chik-Fil-A waffle fries, H-E-B sour cream cake donuts, Coca-Cola, and Cookies and Cream ice cream.
My desire for our church body is that we would all grow together in knowing who God is and how He has called us to live together for Him. I’m a teacher at heart, so through whatever I’m doing I want people to walk away with a bigger view of God, a better grasp of His character, and greater desire to live for His glory.
